Prison Years

The Seven Year Olds

To her mother, Where are you going, Mommy?
I’m going to visit my friend Katherine.

To her friends, She lives in jail.
Open-eyed, What did she do that she has to live in jail?

She robbed banks.
Oh, that was bad. It’s very bad to rob banks.

But she was trying to stop the war.
Well, that’s okay then. It was bad to rob banks, but it was good to try to stop the war.
Yes, it was bad to rob banks. And it was good to try to stop the war. But doesn’t she know

You can never stop war?
